Student Success Statement
“A man without a goal is like a man without a rudder.”
-Thomas Carlyle

I agree with this statement because when you don’t have a sense of direction then you’ll end up somewhere you may not want to be. You at least need to have an idea of where you want to go. It doesn’t have to be planned out but having an idea will help with what you want. There may be challenges but that’s an obstacle of life.

Student Success Statement
If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.
Conclusion:
If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world.
-Chinese Proverb

I agree with this statement because when someone has beauty in character they don’t have to be looking like a model or a god on the outside. What really matters is what is on the inside of someone. That’s what matters to me.
Character Counts
“The Six Pillars of Character”
Trustworthiness- Be honest, don’t deceive, be reliable-do what you say you’ll do, and be loyal.
Respect- respect others, accept differences, and be considerate of how others feel.
Responsibility- ctr, plan ahead, keep trying, self-control, and think before you act.
Fairness- follow rules, take turns, share, treat everyone the same, and don’t take advantage of others.
Caring- be kind, compassionate, express gratitude, and forgive others.
Citizenship- obey laws, stay informed, protect environment, volunteer, and respect authority.

My opinion on this is that this is a great way to show and remind people what characteristics they need to be good person.

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than by cheating.”
-Sophocles

I agree with this statement because if you can’t do things honestly then it will never feel right. It’s better to do everything honestly that to do it un-honestly.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day
Monday, May 25
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the US to remember those who have died serving in our country’s armed forces. It is celebrated every year on the last Monday May. A lot of people visit cemeteries and memorials to honor those who have died. Some volunteers put American flags on the graves. I honestly don’t know what I will do but I’ll probably draw something.

Student Success Statement
“Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.”
-Wilford Woodruff

I agree with this quote because when you do something wrong it may seem right at the time or not but you won’t feel any good about it. Nothing will be gained by your little mistake no matter how big or small.

These services can help families by letting them know how to contact people who can help them learn English. Also, to let them know what their kids will do in school. My family would probably use the one to learn English because my grandparents don’t really understand it.

Video Reflection
Forgiveness

I think what Renee did was really kind because you can’t hold a grudge forever. Life will feel incomplete. I can tell first hand because I hold some of the longest grudges. I now know that holding grudges won’t help me in life. It made it hard for me to build trust. But I forgave even if it was said to them I hope they somehow know they are forgiven. Eric was in jail for 14 years because his sentence was cut in half. Forgiving can do a lot of change in life.

“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.”
-Alan Paton

I agree with this quote because when something bad happens you feel really bad. The only thing you can do is forgive. When you forgive it doesn’t have to be in their face but it can be. Forgiving is just another part in life that we must face.

“Dare to stand alone.”
-Thomas S. Monson

I agree with this quote because even though you do want friends around you, there are times you need to be on your own. When I didn’t want to be around the wrong crowd I would make excuses to be alone. Even though I talked to them I wouldn’t hang out with them. Its ok to be alone you can still accomplish the same things.
