History of Basketball
The guy who invented Basketball was named Dr. James
Naismith born in November 6, 1861. He had invented it in 1891 while he was a
coach and innovator. He had invented it because he was given 14 days to create
an indoor game. He had analyzed all games that considered a ball and decided he
wanted
little to no contact. He wanted no goalie to get there for giving the idea of a
high goal post and he wanted them to pass the ball because it seemed safer. The
game had an idea from Dr. Naismith’s childhood game duck on a rock. The first ever game was played in December 1891. Naismith
made a hand written report about the circumstances needed for Basketball. Unlike
the way we have it now; the game basketball was 9 against 9. The players had
played with a soccer ball instead of a basketball and the baskets were peach
baskets hanging off the walls. Most fouls had come from when they ram with the
ball and tackling men with the ball was uncommon. So now instead of a soccer
ball we use a basketball, instead of baskets we use a round hoop with a net
hanging around it, and no fouls a called when the men run with the ball.
