I think what Mitch did was nice and thoughtful. His plan to make his dad forget about his cancer actually worked. For that second when he won his father forgot that he had cancer. If that were me I would definitely do the same for my family member. It all depended on the love Mitch had for his father showing that he cares about him that much.
